Eyelet Gaskets
Gaskets have a stainless steel metal band installed around the inner and/or outer edge of gaskets cut from sheet materials to protect the gaskets ’ inner or outer diameter, along with other advantages. Gaskets can be manufactured using a large variety of materials such as compressed fibre, but they are more commonly used with expanded graphite materials, normally reinforced with nickel or tanged stainless steel. The area beneath the metal band has greater compression due to the thickness of the metal and therefore is more highly stressed. The higher compression is more easily achieved with graphite materials than with others.
Advantages
• Anti blow-out provides extra safety.
• Gives gaskets extra strength, allowing them to be easier to handle and assemble.
• Gaskets will not contamination the medium, e.g. graphite.
• Helps prevent erosion at high medium velocities.
• Flanges require no modifications and gaskets can be manufactured to suit almost all flange standards.
• Range of stainless steel eyelets available to be compatible with most chemicals and compounds.
Materials
Eyelet metal material is normally made with 304 SS, with other materials available on request. Maximum recommended operating pressures to suit DIN 40 bar and ANSI class 600 flanges.

Ordering Information
When ordering gaskets please specify the following:
• Nominal pipe size and pressure rating or specific gasket dimensions if other than standard
• Flange Description eg. ASME, DIN
• Materials
Eyelet gaskets are cut graphite or non-metallic gaskets, which are fitted with internal and/or external metal reinforcement in-order to improve handling and performance. |
